1. Basic Policy

Phonography (the "Service") recognizes the importance of personal information and handles it appropriately in accordance with applicable laws and this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

The Service collects the following information:

Account information

• A user ID (anonymous ID) automatically issued through Firebase Anonymous Authentication. We do not collect your name, email address, or similar details except when you contact us.

Recording information

• Audio data you record and upload
• An optional cover image you choose to add
• The title, description, and address you assign to a recording
• The precise latitude and longitude of the recording location
• The recording date and time, time zone, and duration
• Audio analysis data (such as loudness and peak values, used for waveform display and similar features)

Activity information

• Likes, reports (including the reason and details of a report), and play and download activity

Push notification information

• An installation ID used to deliver push notifications
• Device tokens for FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and APNs (Apple Push Notification service)

Inquiry information

• The IDFV (identifier for vendor), OS type and version, and app version sent when you submit the inquiry form
• Information you enter into the form (such as name, email address, and inquiry details)

Automatically collected information

• Access logs, IP address, browser information, and similar data
• Information collected through cookies or similar technologies

3. Purpose of Use

Collected information is used for the following purposes:

• To provide and operate the Service (uploading, storing, publishing, and displaying recordings on the map and in search, etc.)
• To deliver push notifications
• To respond to user inquiries
• To improve the Service and develop new features
• To handle misconduct and reports and to ensure security
• To address acts that violate applicable laws or the Terms of Service

4. Handling of Recordings Set to Public

When you set a recording to public, its audio data, cover image, recording location (latitude, longitude, and address), and metadata such as title, description, recording date and time, and duration become available to the public, including other users of the Service. Such information may be viewed or obtained by an unspecified number of third parties through the map, search, playback, download, and similar features.

Because published information includes location data, please take care before publishing recordings made at places you do not wish to reveal, such as your home or workplace. Published recordings can be set to private or deleted using the methods described below.

5. Provision to Third Parties

The Service will not provide personal information to third parties without the user's consent, except where required by law. However, recordings you set to public are made available as described in the preceding section, and entrustment to external providers to the extent necessary to operate the Service is governed by the following section.

6. External Services and Service Providers

To provide and operate the Service, we entrust the handling of data to the following external providers. Information handling by each provider is governed by its own privacy policy.

• Google LLC (Firebase): anonymous authentication, database, file storage, push notifications (FCM), and related services
• Cloudflare, Inc.: storage and delivery of content such as audio and images, and request processing
• Mapbox, Inc.: map display and location-based features
• Google LLC (Google Forms): receiving inquiries

7. Supervision of Providers and Requirements on Third Parties

The Service requires the providers named in the preceding section and any other third parties to apply, for the entrusted information, security measures and data protection at a level equivalent to or higher than those of the Service, in accordance with this Policy and applicable laws, and supervises them appropriately.

8. Transfers Overseas

The external providers described above may be located outside Japan and may process or store information on servers located outside Japan. Accordingly, your information may be processed by providers and on servers located in the United States or other countries and regions. Even where such transfers occur, the Service takes appropriate protective measures in accordance with applicable laws.

9. Retention, Making Private, and Deletion

The Service retains information for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use or for the period permitted by law, and appropriately deletes or anonymizes information that is no longer needed. You can manage your information in the following ways:

• Making a recording private: switching a published recording to private stops its publication and delivery on the Service.
• Deleting a recording: deleting a recording removes its audio, image, and metadata from the Service's servers.
• Deleting your account: deleting your account from "Settings › Account" in the app removes data such as your published recordings, likes, and reports from the Service's servers. Recordings stored on your device are not deleted; they remain on the device in a private state.

10. Use of External Services

The Service may use external services for analytics or other purposes. Information handling by such external services is governed by each provider's policies.

The Service uses the Mapbox SDK to provide map display and location-based features. Under Mapbox's privacy policy, the Mapbox SDK may collect and process the following information in a de-identified or non-directly identifying manner:

• IP address
• Device identifiers (such as device ID and advertising ID)
• Location data (such as latitude and longitude)
• Telemetry usage data (such as crash and usage metrics)

This information is used for map service delivery, service quality improvement, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting. Mapbox's published materials also describe privacy safeguards such as session ID rotation and limits on IP address retention.

Also, for native apps that use Mapbox mobile SDKs, Mapbox documentation states that developers are expected to provide an end-user telemetry opt-out method. If an attribution control is hidden, an alternative opt-out mechanism should be provided.

11. Security Measures

The Service takes reasonable measures to prevent unauthorized access, leakage, loss, or damage of personal information.
